Who are we?
Capella Sine Vinculis is a vocal ensemble formed around the Van der Kaaij family members (SSATBB).
We sing services in churches of many denominations, but our roots lay in the Anglican choral
tradition; due to our family's UK residency for over 10 years. During those years Bea van der Kaaij,
the leader of the ensemble, directed several Anglican Parish Church choirs and 2 of the 4 children
have been choristers at Lincoln Cathedral. All of the family, most of them now adults, have sung in
the choirs their mother has directed.
Back in the Netherlands since 2017, we wanted to continue singing services and concerts. More and
more experienced singer friends joined us for these concerts. We have sung several Choral
Evensongs in the Paterskerk in Weert (NL), Sung Eucharists and evensongs at Den Bosch St Janskathedraal, concerts
in the Grote/St Bavokerk in Haarlem, and concerts in the St Janskerk in Gouda. Our name
indicates we are not tied to one location or church (capella sine vinculis: literally, choir without
chains)
Several times we have sung services at Peterborough cathedral and invited to return as soon as Covid-19 restrictions will allow us.
We have been invited to come and sing Choral Evensongs and concerts in several places. Keep an eye on
our diary
